Ordinarily, most people would go about their business everyday with hardly a thought spared for what lies beyond death (unless they’re rabid fans of The Walking Dead), because they’re just too pre-occupied with the numerous details of living. Still, there are other people who wonder about what comes after death. It’s this second group of people that Lisa Williams works with.
The Second Group
Who’s in the second group? They’re actually a wide assortment of people, but they share some characteristics. Usually, they are:
Unlike many other self-professed mediums (people who communicate with the dead), there’s not much bad press about Lisa Williams online. A good online reputation management (ORM) team could be behind this, but still, if you persist and investigate a little further, you’ll discover some nuggets of interesting information.
Some Gladness, Some Sadness
Lisa Williams has had several good things going for her. Two of these were shows aired over the Lifetime American cable and satellite television channel – Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead, which was aired from 2006 to 2007, and Lisa Williams: Voices From the Other Side, which was aired in 2008.
Currently, she also has a blogtalk radio show, and her own website with a page rank of 4 based on Google’s algorithm, meaning her site has an above-average importance to the world. Compare that with Perez Hilton’s Miley Cyrus category with a page rank of 5, and Universe Today’s page on alternative sources of energy with a page rank of 3, and you’ll seriously start to question what this world is coming to.
Anyway, Lisa Williams originally came from England. She is a two-time survivor of cervical cancer. She has gone through divorce, being homeless, a hysterectomy, and has claimed to have had a near-death experience (NDE). If you are more logically inclined right now, you can check out this link for more info about NDEs. If you are currently leaning towards the logical and the esoteric, check this out.
She and Holly Riddell are now a couple. Riddell is a designer of jewelry who hopes that the rings she designs can be agents for positive change, or a source of comfort during times that pose challenges.
It was the late media mogul Merv Griffin who helped her get her start as a medium in the US.
Is Lisa Williams a Fraud?
There are always two sides to a controversial topic, and Lisa Williams and her professed ability to communicate with the dead and act as their bridge to the living, is no exception. Her fans/believers will naturally defend her to the highest heavens (which is where they all presumably hope their departed loved ones ended up in, aside from reincarnating into someone they can eventually be with, again). Her naysayers will simply say that Lisa Williams is a master of cold reading and knowing how to play on the psychological weaknesses of those who seek her help.
In any case, it may interest you to know that the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) has a standing challenge that offers “a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event.”
Currently, the prize still remains with the JREF.
